The itinerary begins along the panoramic road that surrounds the town, offering views of Locorotondo’s white, rounded profile with its characteristic ‘cummerse’ roofs. In the background, the Itria Valley stretches out, dotted with trulli, dry stone walls, and vineyards.
A picturesque entrance gate leads into the historic center, with its narrow streets and whitewashed houses. Bright red geraniums adorn balconies and doorways, some of which are reminiscent of the Baroque palaces in nearby Martina Franca.
The route passes several churches and chapels, reflecting the area’s deep religious heritage, culminating at the monumental Chiesa Madre dedicated to Saint George.
